Just a sample of my choices.....the wall went on forever with choice.
Today was a very exciting day for me.....I bought my very first sari.
With the invaluable assistance from my Indian friend Ritu, we visited a Sari store then she drove me to a dressmaker in Old City Town to measure my dimensions so as to make the blouse and petticoat to accompany the sari. We had heaps of fun wading through the numerous colours and embelushments holding up colours against myself.
The sari fitters (who were men), wrapped me in numerous saris to see which was to be my chosen one.
The possibilities are endless. Without being too overwhelmed, I chose a beautiful caramel and apricot sheer fabric with gold embellishments. It is just stunning. You'll have to wait for the photo of my final choice at the wedding next week.
Ritu and I then had lunch at a hip spot in town. Great day with new friends...thanks Ritu!
the red one also looks smashing!!! Can't wait to see you dressed up 😊😊😊😊

I had fun too! Once you get the hang of draping a saree, I am sure you will enjoy some more beautiful colors.

Ooh I have such sari envy. Would love to wear one too. Shoes? Little strappy metallic sandals? Jewellery....always gold & lots of it right? Are you allowed to wear the bindi?

Hi Peg! Yes...looking for a pair of flats with bling for the lower end of my body..... Gold, gold and more gold is required for jewellery. I still need to go bangle shopping. And yes....a bindi is required also. I checked with my friends that it wouldn't offend. The Bindi signifies that you are a married woman. The more Blingy the better for a wedding.
